SIGN is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The board meets six times a year, and as required.
Board members are elected for three-year terms at the annual general meeting in June, and elect their officers immediately following.

The annual general meeting of SIGN is held every June.
The annual operational and financial reports are presented at the meeting, and Directors are elected for three-year terms.

AGM elects board, hears reports
Five new directors joined the SIGN board at the Annual General Meeting on June 24. They are Rhonda Hawkins, Crystal Sarafincian, Ron Irvine, Mike Kirby and Gurjit Dhaliwal. Leaving the board were Scott Sharpe and Cory Cadotte.
Outgoing Chair Scott Sharpe, in his report, explained the expanding work of the board over the past year, and CEO Andrew Sedley noted the increased emphasis on expanding programs and communications, among other highlights. ​The financial report was presented by Sheila Hintz, the chair of the board's finance and audit committee.

The meeting followed a dinner attended by SIGN members, staff and interested individuals.
